Education

Picture of Jesus and ChildrenChristian Education is a lifelong process. Children in Midweek and Sunday School learn the basics of their faith and see Jesus as their Friend and Savior. Adults grow in spiritual maturity and strengthen their faith through Adult Bible study opportunities.

Adult Bible Study

Sunday morning from 9:30-10:15 am, a Bible study is led in the Fellowship Hall for all adults as well as our High School Youth.
There are also a number of small group Bible studies that meet at various times and location during the week. Please contact the church office (715.848.5511) if you are interested in more information.

Midweek (Confirmation)

The Midweek program is designed to prepare students for confirmation at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and provide a foundation for a personal commitment of lifelong faithfulness as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Students will be considered for confirmation in the spring of his/her 8th grade year in school after completion of 5 years of Midweek curriculum along with Sunday School and worship attendance. Confirmation Sunday is the third Sunday in May at the late Service.
Fifth grade students and their parents will receive instruction in the meaning and practice of Holy Communion in preparation for their First Communion. First Communion will be celebrated during the Maundy Thursday evening service.

Ages: 4th grade – 8th Grade
Curriculum: Grades 4-6th – Know the Bible Now
Grades 7 & 8th – Catechetical Helps for a new day.  ESV Edition
When: 6:45 pm – 8:00pm Wednesday evenings during the school year

Schedule notice: Should it be necessary to cancel school due to inclement weather, Midweek School is automatically canceled on days when Wausau Public School close because of weather or vacations.

Sunday School
Ages served: Sunday School is for 3 year olds through eighth graders
Curriculum: Growing in Christ

High School Bible Studies are held during The Bridge meetings on Sunday nights at 6:00 PM.  Also, on Sunday Mornings our High School youth are welcome to participate in the Fellowship Hall with the Adult Bible Study.

Volunteer Opportunities
The various education programs would not be possible without dedicated volunteers to teach, coordinate supplies, serve dinners, assist teachers, create costumes and decorations.
An application and background check will be completed on all volunteers who work with children, youth and at risk individuals.
