On Friday, December 6th, the Men In Action (MIA) held their annual toy drive to give to children who have less. We had a great turnout as 98% of the toys were gone in 45 minutes which made for a very busy time! People already started coming at 3:00 pm with 100+ people attending. There were more than 400 new items; most of them were toys. Over 200 Barbie Dolls were given away along with 600+ stuffed animals. The event took up the entire Fellowship Hall as there were 18 tables filled with all kinds of toys, 4 bicycles, and one wall was filled with large toys like doll houses, etc. We also had a dozen or so winter coats and insulated pants, and many winter hats and gloves that were given away.
Before guests entered the Fellowship Hall, we shared with them information about St. Mark’s and invited them to worship with us and join us for the Advent suppers and we shared Jesus with them and prayed together. The first 40 family units received a Christmas story arch book and a puzzle along with an information sheet on St Mark’s and a religious pamphlet. This was Christmas for many families! We thank the 17 volunteers that helped out, including Pastor Hauan and Julia.
